An injury that you have suffered to your neck or head may cause problems with your ears, possibly a person who only has tinnitus in one ear has this problem. While an ear disorder called Meniere's disease can lead to pressure in the ear that isn't normal and tinnitus.
You may have what is called an acoustic neuroma, which is a benign tumor that could have developed on a cranial nerve. This will lead to problems with tinnitus. Pulsatile tinnitus, though it is rare does affect some people, it's a problem with blood vessels.
